May 31, Checklist

Romans 12:9-16

Brothers and sisters:
Let love be sincere;
hate what is evil,
hold on to what is good;
love one another with mutual affection;
anticipate one another in showing honor.
Do not grow slack in zeal,
be fervent in spirit,
serve the Lord.
Rejoice in hope,
endure in affliction,
persevere in prayer.
Contribute to the needs of the holy ones,
exercise hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you,
bless and do not curse them.
Rejoice with those who rejoice,
weep with those who weep.
Have the same regard for one another;
do not be haughty but associate with the lowly;
do not be wise in your own estimation.

Well if I didn’t know better I say Paul is giving us a checklist of Christian living today.  Spiritual exercises.  All I have to say is, for every time I have done one of these, there has been times I haven’t.  That doesn’t discourage me from trying.  It shouldn’t discourage you either.  Stay strong.  Every time you fail the Lord, get back up and try again.  God loves you and will forgive you if you desire and ask.

Thought for the day:  What can I do better here?  What can I improve on. While none of these are what brings me Salvation, they certainly are road signs on the journey of life.
